Fingerwizard - Easy Fitting Steps

It’s easy to fit FingerWizard® Door Hinge Safety System. FingerWizard® needs no alteration to the door other than a clean before fitting.

Adhesive will normally be adequate if the surfaces are clean and free of silicone or polish. If in doubt fit using fixings supplied as follows:-

Five fixings: two at 100mm from top and bottom, three with 450mm spacing between.
Note: Both channel and main extrusion have self-adhesive strip on faces which attach to the door and door frame.

Step 1

With the door leaf in the fully closed position apply the small location channel to the inner edge of the leaf. When fitted there should be no gap between the edge of the channel and the doorstop.
**For mechanical fixed versions apply pins down centreline, one at 100mm from both the top and bottom together with three at 450mm spacings.

Step 2

Using the edge of the channel as a guide adhere the main body of FingerWizard® to the doorstop. Ensure again no gap is visible between the location channel and the main body self adhesive base.
**For mechanical fixed versions apply pins down centreline of the FingerWizard® to doorframe fixing, one at 100mm from both top and bottom together with three at 450mm spacing.

Step 3

Open door leaf and secure in a safe manner, line up the main body of FingerWizard® to the location channel putting the inner edge down into the channel.

Step 4

Apply pressure gently snap the main body into the location channel all the way through its length.

Step 5

Close the door, check that the unit is sitting correctly and all areas of the unit are fully adhered.

Steps 6 and 7 - Full Set Only  

Step 6

Adhere ‘L’ shaped section to the back of the door leaf ensuring the inner point of the ‘L’ buts up against the hinge as a guide.
**For mechanical fixed versions apply pins down centreline of the FingerWizard® to doorframe fixing, one at 100mm from both top and bottom together with three at 450mm spacing. The fixings will be covered by the unit once fully installed.

Step 7

Fold the unit over the hinges and adhere the leg over to the doorframe again using the edge of the hinge knuckle as a guide pushing the unit
in to touch the hinge.
